Healthy sprouted green gram dhosai

Ingredients:
  • Green gram – 200 gm
  • Dry red chillies – 3 Nos
  • Coconut – as required
  • Ginger – a small piece
  • Salt – as required
  • Dhosai batter – 2 cups
Method:

1.       Soak green gram in water for half a day. Strain the water away and keep it closed for half a day. The grams will start to sprout



 

2.      Take this sprouted green gram, chillies, salt, ginger, and coconut, and grind them all in mixer




3.      Mix this ground paste to dhosai batter, make dhosai and serve hot

4.      This dhosai goes good with Chutney or Sambar

5.      Those who are diet conscious can avoid adding coconut

6.      This is a highly nutritious food for children




Note:
  • Rather than consuming green gram as it is, it is healthier and better to use the gram in its sprouted form
  • Green gram can be added in variety of side dishes and Koottu recipes
  • This will get easily digested
  • This helps in reducing blood cholesterol and regulates blood pressure
  • Green gram is suitable for consumption for diabetic patients as well
