First woman Senior Postmaster of T.Nagar

For the first time a woman has been posted as Postmaster in Chennai. J Vasugi has become the first woman to take over as the Senior Postmaster of Thiyagaraya Nagar Head Post Office. Vasugi, who had joined the Postal department in Dharmapuri Division as Assistant in 1982, gradually rose to the level in Superintendent cadre.
She had earlier served Chennai City North Division as Assistant Superintendent Cadre. During her tenure here she played a key role in computerization of the post office including provision of core banking solution facility.
