  Tamilnadu Electricity board has decided to increase power tariff for domestic users, which need to be cleared by the Tamilnadu Electricity Regulatory Commission. The TNERC has scheduled meetings with the public to get the views of people in Chennai on March 30th, in Madurai on April 8th, In Coimbatore on April 13th in Trichy on April 15th.

The TNEB has submitted petition to that effect to the Tamilnadu Electricity Regulatory Commission. The petition submitted on 18th January has admitted by the commission.
