Diagnosing learning gaps and determining interventions necessary in the education policies, teaching practices and learning etc would be possible in the future. Thanks to the huge effort from the school education dept in TN!!

Come November, SCERT or State Council of Educational Research and Training would have important work in its hands. The news is that tentatively from 19th of November onwards the department of school education would conduct a national achievement survey, a large-scale assessment to obtain information regarding the academic achievements of the school students.

For this, SCERT has been entrusted to monitor and organise the survey by appointing staffs at state and district levels. It was mentioned by a senior official belonging to SCERT that NCERT or National Council for Educational Research and Training would train the officials designated for the survey. To those authorities who conduct state level survey, guidelines would be issued. Information collected is that the survey would be carried out for students belonging to the classes three, six and nine. The senior official then spoke about how instructions have been given to the chief educational officers to send the number of persons inducted for the survey.

In selected schools, the survey would be conducted and the survey would analyse the performances of students to augment the areas of improvement needed. Finally, a detailed report would be sent to SCERT after the survey. It is now said that the report would play a role in diagnosing learning gaps and determine interventions necessary in education policies, teaching practices and learning etc.
