Central govt. employees can expect increase in pay from next year

The 7th Pay Commission will recommend a 22 to 23% hike in salaries and allowances for central government employees. The report is expected to be submitted to the Finance Minister on Thursday.
Headed by Justice A. K. Mathur, the Pay Commission has recommended 15% hike in basic salary plus dearness allowance (DA). It has also recommend increase in house rent allowance (HRA). Totally, there will be a 22 to 23% increase in the gross salary which includes basic salary, DA and allowances. The Commission also consists of Vivek Rae of the 1978 IAS batch, economist Rathin Roy and Meena Agarwal who is the secretary of the Commission.
If passed, the recommendations will be with effect from January 1, 2016.
