Workshop on basic sciences for school students today

Stella Maris College for Women will hold on Thursday, a workshop to popularize basic sciences for school students. Class VIII and class IX students from 10 schools will participate in the workshop.
There will also be an exhibition by science students of the college. The events are part of the grand finale of competitions held in December and January by the college to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology.
The college was one of the two selected under the Star College Scheme. The departments of chemistry, physics, botany and zoology held several competitive programmes, including quiz, competitions, poster and paper presentation.
The valedictory address will be delivered by Anju Chadha, professor, Department of Biotechnology, IIT-Madras.
