Bandh on Cauvery issue: Chennai Metro City comes to a standstill

Posted on: 05/Apr/2018 1:39:59 PM
A bandh is being organized by the opposition parties led by DMK today (Thursday, 5th April) throughout Tamil Nadu as a protest against the delay in setting up the Cauvery Management Board.

So, the Chennai Metro City has almost come to a standstill with empty roads and streets with a majority of shops being closed.

The bandh is being organized by the political party DMK with its associates Congress, VCP (Viduthalai Chiruthai), ad MDMK.

Further, most of the commercial traders in the state and the transport employees unions have joined this protest.

Thus, in the Chennai Metro City, all the transport avenues – buses, autos, cabs, and lorries are not being run and parked wherever they are.

It is learnt that only a very few numbers of buses are operating in the state of Tamil Nadu today. Most of the shops also remain closed.

Thus, with most of the commercial trading shops, restaurants/hotels, and tea shops being closed, most of the roads and streets in the Chennai Metro City wear a deserted look with absolutely no movements.
