Banks will function as usual today

All the banks throughout the country will function today (Monday, 5th November) as usual like a normal weekday.
India’s most prominent Hindu festival, Deepavali, is all set to be celebrated by the citizens with great pomp, cheer, and in a grand manner. As Deepavali has fallen this year on a Tuesday, the Tamil Nadu government has considered the benefit for the employees and hence declared Monday, 5th November, as a holiday. Because of this announcement, the question arose as to whether the banks will function today.
The bank officials explained in this regard - Only the state government of Tamil Nadu has declared a holiday on 5th November. On the other hand, there is no announcement in this regard made by the central government. So, all the banks will function as usual on this day (today). However, the banks will be closed on Tuesday, 6th November on account of Deepavali. The banks will resume normal work on 7th November, Wednesday.
