Cyclone Gaja echo-details of school holidays and postponement of scheduled exams

As damage repair work and activities are undertaken after the cyclone Gaja, holidays have been announced for some schools in specific locations and also some examinations have been postponed. The details:
A holiday has been declared today (Monday, 19th December) for all schools and colleges located with the domain of the Nagapattinam Revenue Division as the damage repair work after the cyclone has been undertaken.
It has also been recommended that the headmasters/principals of the schools located in the revenue domain of Mayiladuthurai depending on the extent of damage in their locations can take the decision to declare a holiday.
As the cyclone repair/relief work is in progress, the schools in the Thanjavur district Orathanadu and Pattukkottai will be closed.
All the schools and colleges in Pudhukkottai district will remain closed today.
The schools in Kodaikanal are will also remain closed today. Similarly, a holiday has been declared for the schools in Thiruvarur district. At the same time, it has been emphasized that the teachers must attend school in order to participate in the cyclone damage relief/repair activities.
Exams postponed
The examinations scheduled in the affiliated colleges of Anna University on last Thursday, Friday and Saturday have been postponed dut t cyclone Gaja. Presently, normalcy is yet to retune in some places after the damages caused by the cyclone Gaja – so, the semester examinations scheduled by the Anna University Engineering Colleges have been postponed by Anna University. These examinations are postponed to 15th December.
Meanwhile, Anna University has also announced that the examinations, scheduled to be conducted in Guindy Engineering College, Alagappa College of Technology, Architectural college, and Chromepet MIT will all be conducted as scheduled.
The Directorate of Technical Education has announced that the polytechnic examinations, scheduled today (Monday, 19th November) have been postponed to 26th November.
