Latest Order from the High Court to TN Govt regarding reduction in the sales hours of liquor shops in TN!!

The Tamil Nadu government has been issued orders by the High Court regarding reducing the sales hours of Tasmac liquor shops during the festivals.
A person named Kannan has filed a petition in the High Court seeking an order to announce a local holiday on 6th March 2023 on the occasion of Kumbakonam Masi Magam festival. He had asked the HC to declare a holiday for the tasmac shops belonging to Kumbakonamd and its surrounding places.
The petition came up for the hearing before the bench of Justice T. Krishnakumar and Justice L. Victoria Gowri.
No case has been registered till now regarding Law and Order issue during Kumbakonam Masi Magam festival. This was mentioned by the public prosecutor. He added that more than 8 liquor shops present in the vicinity would be closed.
In this scenario, the Justices have pointed out that according to the petitioner many devotees visit the temple during the temple functions. Considering the number of devotees visiting the temple, the Justices ordered that the TN government must consider reducing the time of opening of the liquor shops on the festival days and take the necessary action.
