For teachers, Group C and Group D employees, the Pongal festival bonus was announced!!!

The Pongal festival is fast approaching now. In this scenario, the TN govt has announced Pongal bonus for the teachers and for the Group C and D category employees.
As per the release from the TN govt it was clear that the TN govt would incur an additional expenditure of Rs 167.68 cr to distribute Pongal bonus to targeted group of employees and retired Village Administrative Officers or VAOs.
The release revealed that orders were issued to grant an ad hoc bonus, subject to a ceiling of Rs 3000, to the employees including teachers of group C and Group D.
Point is that a special ad hoc bonus of Rs 1000 would be paid to full as well as part time employees who are paid from contingencies at a fixed monthly rate, employees of consolidated pay, special time scale of pay and employees who worked for a minimum of 240 days in a 2022-23 FY.
It was brought out that the government pensioners (who retired from Group C and Group D categories), family pensioners and retired VAOs, village assistants would be provided Rs 500 as Pongal gift.
