Velachery is making news for the wrong reasons now!!
Many people travel along the Velachery Main Road and this road is always busy these days. In addition, there are hawkers and shops have mushroomed. Truth is that at Kaiveli in Pallikaranai, there is now heavy congestion. It is known that the road at Kaiveli is a 3-lane stretch and parking of vehicles has hindered the free flow of traffic here. The permanent structures from the hawkers have been creating severe traffic congestion especially in the peak hours.
It must be taken into account that the motorists have requested the Highways dept and traffic police to clear the encroachments to ease traffic congestion. It was brought out by some sources belonging to the Highways dept that the encroachments on this road stretch had been removed in November in 2023.
