Despite a recent dip in the maximum temperature over the last 24 hours, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has forecast a rise in temperatures across Tamil Nadu. According to the latest update, temperatures are expected to be 2–3°C above normal until April 21.
Adding to the changing weather conditions, a lower-level atmospheric convergence zone where easterly and westerly winds meet is currently active over parts of South India. This weather pattern is likely to result in light to moderate rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal regions up to April 23.
For Chennai, the forecast indicates a generally cloudy sky, with light to moderate showers expected in isolated areas. The city’s maximum temperature could climb up to 37°C, as per the report.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions during this period of fluctuating weather conditions.
