Another Tourist Attraction in Chennai - Nandavanam Heritage Park to be established in ECR in Chennai!!
In the future, East Coast Road or ECR in south Chennai would be attracting a large number of tourists. Thanks to the efforts taken by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Department.
The sensational news is that Tamil Nadu Tourism dept is having plans to establish Nandavanam Heritage Park at a cost of Rs 100 cr in ECR. The financial assistance for this would be received from the central govt.
Location details:
It is learnt that the TN Tourism dept would be setting up Nandhavanam Heritage Park on 223 acres of land near Kovalam along ECR in Chennai. This park would have 3 sections namely solai vanam, viharam and maidanam or stadium. In this place, 2 star hotels plus a parking area for 4000 vehicles etc would also be set up.
Solai vanam:
Information collected is that solai vanam would have features representing the traditional and historical features of TN. These include temples, sculptures, folk deities, music gardens, cultural programmes, bommai poonga etc.
Viharam:
Viharam is meant for children and play areas only. It would have illuminated parks plus others like the kids play area, planet based garden, flower garden etc.
Maidanam or stadium:
On 13 acres of land, a maidanam or stadium would be constructed and it could accommodate 25000 people. This stadium would have all kinds of sports like tennis, basketball, volleyball etc.
It is mentioned that the Nandavanam Heritage Park would be designed in such a way to provide the visitors with access to the waterfront through walkways, waterways and cycled paths etc. At the waterfront, boat rides and a kid zone would be available.
In addition, themed sculptures, small shops, open air cinemas, cultural huts, food courts etc would also be set up. It is now said that the upcoming Nandavanam heritage park would become another tourist attraction along the ECR. Superb!!
