To accommodate the festive season demand, Southern Railway has scheduled two special trains from Tambaram to the southern districts.
Tambaram – Manamadurai Festival Special
Train No. 06019 will depart from Tambaram at 5 p.m. on October 30 and arrive at Manamadurai at 3:45 a.m. the next day. For the return journey, Train No. 06020 will leave Manamadurai at 11:45 a.m. on October 31, reaching Tambaram at 11:10 p.m. the same day.
Route Stops: Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Villupuram, Panruti, Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Peralam, Tiruvarur, Tiruthuraipoondi, Muthupet, Adhiramapattinam, Pattukottai, Peravurani, Aranthangi, Karaikudi, Kallal, and Sivaganga.
Coach Composition: The train will consist of one AC 2-tier coach, two AC 3-tier coaches, 12 sleeper class coaches, three general second class coaches, and two additional second-class coaches.
Tambaram – Nagercoil AC Special
Train No. 06109 will depart from Tambaram at 3:45 p.m. on October 30, arriving at Nagercoil at 4:40 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 06110 will leave Nagercoil at 8:45 a.m. on October 31, reaching Tambaram at 9:55 p.m. the same day.
Route Stops: Chengalpattu, Madurantakam, Melmaruvathur, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur, Srirangam, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Kodaikanal Road, Madurai, Tirumangalam, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli, Nanguneri, and Valliyur.
Coach Composition: This special train will feature 14 AC 3-tier economy coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans.
Coimbatore – Dindigul MEMU Special
The unreserved MEMU Express Special (Train No. 06106) will operate daily (except Sundays) from October 30 to November 6, departing Coimbatore at 9:35 a.m. and reaching Dindigul at 1:10 p.m. The return Train No. 06107 will leave Dindigul at 2 p.m. and arrive in Coimbatore at 5:50 p.m.
Route Stops: Podanur, Kinathukadavu, Pollachi, Udumalaipettai, Palani, and Oddanchatram.
Coach Composition: This service will operate with an 8-car MEMU.
These special services aim to ease passenger traffic during the festive period, providing convenient travel options across key southern districts.
