Demand from the government school teachers in Tamil Nadu!!

The local body election date is fast approaching now in Tamil Nadu!!
It is known that government school teachers would be deployed for the election activities. The news that has come out is that the government school teachers are demanding food to be provided to them. It is learnt that one lakh teachers belonging to the government schools would be indulged in the upcoming local body elections.
Mr. P.K. Ilamaran, TN Teachers Association President expressed his thoughts and spoke about how the state government as well as the State Election Commission must provide food for the teachers involved in the poll related activities on the polling day. It must be noted that previously food was not provided for the teachers involved in the poll related works. Various poll related duties for which the government school teachers would be used are assistant returning officers, block level officers, poll booths in-charge etc.
On 9th and 10th February 2022, training programmes have been organised by the State Election Commission and class 10 and class12 students would have revision exams (language paper) on these 2 days and therefore the training date might be preponed. It is true that it would take 4 full days for the poll work to get over and the studies of the students would get affected. Mr. Ilamaran was unhappy regarding the deployment of teachers of government schools for the poll activities.
Mr. R. Dandapani, joint secretary of Tamizhaga Tamizh Aaasiriyar Kazhagam expressed his concern regarding the safety of women teachers involved in the poll related activities.
