Reorganisation of local bodies - Vanagaram & Adayalampattu to be brought under GCC!!
As a part of reorganisation of local bodies by the TN government, Vanagaram and Adayalampattu village panchayats are likely to be included or brought under Greater Chennai Corporation or GCC. The jurisdiction of GCC would be expanded from 426 sq km to 446 sq km with the inclusion. Moreover, the total population would become 6704456 after the inclusion.
The quality of life in these 2 above village panchayats mentioned in Chennai would become better and this was according to the December 31 order issued by the MAWS or Municipal Administration and Water Supply. It is learnt that a member of a residents welfare association or RWA in Neelankarai in Chennai was in doubt of the proposed reorganisation. It must be noted that in 2011 Neelankarai became a part of GCC.
It is now brought out by a resident that GCC has been finding it difficult to manage the existing areas and it would take 10 or more years to witness complete development in these locations in Chennai. Point to be noted is that people have been issued 6 weeks of time to send their objections and opinions regarding this and they could send it to the Principal Secretary, MAWS Dept, Fort St George Chennai.
