In response to a complaint made by a resident of Chennai, the Chennai north District Consumer Disputes have ordered VR Mall not to collect any parking charges from the public.
Point is that the order would come into effect only after the date of its receipt by the V.R. Mall. It is now said that the mall has been directed to pay Rs 12000 as compensation for unfair trade practices. For using the facilities provided, the mall cannot charge the consumers but by doing that the mall has resorted to unfair trade practices.
Information is that the consumer commission headed by the president Mr. Gopinath and members Mr. V. Ramamurthy and Kavitha Kannan directed the mall not to repeat unfair trade practices of imposing parking charges immediately from the date of receipt of order.
