Holistic Learning & Growth!! - For integrating happiness studies into the academic curriculum, IIT-Madras does this now!!
For many decades, IIT-M or Indian Institute of Technology in Madras has been producing amazing engineers and scientists etc who have gone on to reach top positions in their professional careers.
Now, IITM is having different plans to help the students beyond academics. Point is that IITM is having plans to integrate happiness studies into the academic curriculum. This was revealed by a release issued by IITM. For this reason, IITM has joined hands with the Reiki Foundation for Happiness to establish the Reiki Centre for Excellence for the Science of Happiness.
It is known that this Reiki Foundation is a non-profit organisation. It is noteworthy that Rekhi (Japan based alternative medicine)is a pseudoscientific form of energy healing where the energy from the universe is transferred to the person through the hands of the Rekhi practitioner.
This Rekhi centre for excellence would come up at the department of management studies or DoMS in IITM. Information gathered is that this centre would focus on many areas including integrating happiness into the academic curriculum.
It is now believed that IITM is advancing research and education in the science of happiness, recognising its important role in holistic learning and personal growth. The courses would be developed and delivered to empower students to cultivate positivity plus build emotional resilience and lead purposeful lives.
Hands on learning experience would be offered through a dedicated Mind Lab and it would have cutting edge tools to deepen practical understanding and application. This was as per the IITM release. According to IITM Director Mr. V. Kamakoti it was clear that the aim behind this would be to cultivate an ideal student-faculty environment. He spoke about how true learning and holistic personal growth extends beyond the academic performances.
