To meet the evolving demands of the industry plus to strengthen technical skills of the fresh graduates as well as the working professionals, IITM or Indian Institute of Technology Madras has launched a new PG diploma programme. This is making sensational news now.
A release from IITM mentioned that this new programme would offer a combination of academic rigour and professional flexibility and it would be spearheaded by CODE or Centre for Outreach and Digital Education. The release added that there would be live online classes during the evenings and weekends with recorded sessions. This would help the learners to pursue higher education without disturbing their full time jobs/internships etc.
According to the professor Vignesh Muthu Vijayan, associate chair, CODE, IITM, this new programme would address the growing need for accessible, industry relevant education. He spoke about how the programme would be in line with the aspirations of early career graduates and seasoned professionals.
Last date for applying and detail about entrance exam:
It must be noted that the applications are now open and would be accepted until May 2025. An entrance examination would be conducted on 13th July and the admission would be based on this entrance exam. The classes would start in the month of August or September. Information gathered is that the programme would offer cutting edge domains like aerospace engineering, ammunition technology plus artificial intelligence or AI, integrated circuits or IC, signal processing, mechanical design, microelectronics, automotive technology, e-mobility and process safety etc.
It is said that those candidates who do well in this PG diploma programme would be eligible to upgrade to a web enabled M. Tech degree. Their qualifications would get enhanced by getting a degree from IITM.
