The rains that lashed Chennai have led to heavy water stagnation on the roads. As a result, the traffic was affected.

Yesterday morning, low pressure turned into deep depression and rains began lashing Chennai from 10am in the morning and it rained till afternoon. On the Thoraipakkam main road water was present from morning till evening on the road and it led to heavy traffic congestion.
The traffic in Velachery was heavy as a tree fell down on the road. The tree was later removed by the Chennai Corporation. In Guindy, the residents suffered from foul smell as sewage got mixed with rain water. In many other localities in Chennai also, the residents were unhappy due to the mixing of sewage water and rain water. As there was rains in the evening too, the weather became cooler in the city.
