As of now, only 3 persons in Tamil Nadu have been confirmed to be affected by a coronavirus. In this situation, information regarding how to detect whether a person has been affected by coronavirus has come out.
According to this info, it is a necessity to carry out the medical test on persons who were affected with persistent high fever/cough especially after they had got in touch with persons who have returned from travel abroad or from other states.
Especially, if there is a doubt whether it is a coronavirus, it is advisable to visit the nearest government hospital and have the required medical tests. The blood sample of the affected person is taken to the Guindy Laboratory and the analysis is done. They laboratory officials take 48 hours to establish any changes in the blood sample taken.
The lab officials explained - In case the test agrees with the blood sample of a person affected with coronavirus sent from China to WHO (World Health Organisation), the result is positive, (the person is affected!) an indication of a red line moving up is given confirming.
In case it is established as the ordinary fever after this blood test, it is indicated by a horizontal black line (indicating negative).
The laboratory officials further shared that it would take 2 days to establish the blood test result for confirmation. Only based on this procedure, the person from Ambur was confirmed as affected by a coronavirus.
So, let us get into the habit of:
- Washing out hands with sanitizer and soap water at least 10 times in a day
- Avoid visiting public gathering spots
And stay at home safe, ensuring cleanliness and thus preventing of coronavirus spread!
