The active Coronavirus infection cases have been reducing in Chennai city. This has made many happy and relieved.
Manali zone has got just 4 active Coronavirus cases and other zones like Madhavaram and Thiru Vi Ka Nagar have just 6 active cases each. Tiruvottriyur zone has got 8 active cases now. Chennai city had just 327 active cases on Wednesday, 16th March 2022. This was brought out by the data from GCC.
It is sensational to note that the number of active cases reported in Chennai zones yesterday was the lowest since 2020. There were 45 active cases in Teynampet and it was the highest. It is learnt that none of the 15GCC zones have more than 50 active cases now. When compared to the total number of Coronavirus cases reported since the outbreak the present number of active cases is almost zero percent. In Chennai, more than 7.41lakhs have been affected by this deadly and fast spreading infection.
On Monday, GCC tested only 4508 samples and they found that 33 were Coronavirus affected and the TPR is 0.7%. The number of testing and TPR has reduced now. The reduction in the daily or fresh Coronavirus cases has made the civic body not to conduct fever camps. It must be taken into account that the intensity of several enforcement measures like penalty for residents without face masks etc have also reduced. On Wednesday, Chennai mayor Priya felicitated nurses, assistant nurses and Anganwadi workers etc who administered the most number of polio vaccines to the children.
