TN State Government: Employees having fever, cold or breathing difficulties not to attend office!

The Chief Secretary of the state government of Tamil Nadu has informed that body thermal test will be conducted for all the employees in all government offices throughout Tamil Nadu. The number of coronavirus affected persons has increased to 172 in India!

Both the central and state governments have taken various activities to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus on a war-footing.

As a part of this, all the schools, colleges, theatres, gymnasiums, and wine-shops have all been closed in all the states until the end of this month!

In this situation, the Chief Secretary of the state government of Tamil Nadu, Shanmugam, has sent a circular to all the department officers. 

This circular mentions:
  • Body thermal scanning test will be conducted for all the employees working in Tamil Nadu State Government Offices.
  • Further, this thermal scan test will be conducted on the public who visit the state government offices.
  • Employees having a cold, fever, cough, and breathing difficulties need not attend the office.
  • The people with the above symptoms must immediately go to the doctor.
  • All state government employees must observe self-cleanliness, including regular washing of hands with soap.
  • The public must avoid visiting the state government offices unless there is an ultra-emergency.
  • The public, instead, may contact the state government offices through telephone or E-mail.
  • Avoid organising any meetings in the state government offices.
  • Do not call the employees working in the branch offices to the head office unless there is a dire emergency!
  • In case any of the public visitors have coronavirus, he/she must be immediately sent for medical treatment.
