The Central government sets the charges for coronavirus testing - Rs. 4500!

Following the Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy giving approval to the private diagnostic laboratories to undertake testing of the coronavirus, a maximum fee of Rs. 4500 has been fixed at Rs. 4500.

With the coronavirus panic, even the persons affected with ordinary cough and fever are nervous enough to get them checked for coronavirus!

Presently, coronavirus testing is undertaken only in the government diagnostic laboratories. In this situation, the Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy has given approval to the private diagnostic laboratories to undertake testing of the coronavirus with the objective of increasing the testing centres throughout the country.

Further, it has been emphasised that the Test must be conducted as per the rule, regulations, and guidelines of the Indian Medical Research Council and he cold-phlegm and blood samples must be collected with due safety precautions.

He central government has fixed a maximum fee of Rs. 4500 for coronaviurus. For the persons coming with initial symptoms, the fee will be Rs. 1500 and for the t4est confirming coronavirus, the fee will be Rs. 3000.

Still, the central government has insisted that the test must be best conducted free or else, at lesser charges.

Further, the list of patients from whom blood/cold samples have been taken  and the test results must be informed to the Indian Medical Research Council.
