In a recent notification released by theGreater Chennai Corporation (GCC), it is mentioned:
“As a measure to prevent the raging spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the State of Tamil Nadu, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has taken up providing free Covid Vaccination to the citizens.
As per the Chief Minister’s order, Mega Vaccination Camps are being organised throughout the State of Tamil Nadu and coronavirus vaccination is administered to the citizens.
Further, after setting a target that the State of Tamil Nadu should become the first state in the country to administer the 1st dose of vaccination to 100% citizens in the State; order has been given to conduct 2 mega Vaccination Camps every week.
On this basis, Mega Vaccination Camps are being organised today (Thursday, 18th November) in 200 wards in Chennai Metro City falling under the jurisdiction of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC).
A target has been set to administer the vaccination to over 2 Lakhs citizens and activities have been initiated accordingly on behalf of GCC.
In the wards under GCC, around 9 lakhs citizens have passed the set date for getting the 2nd dose of coronavirus vaccination administered!
Presently, Greater Chennai Corporation has a stock of over 11 Lakhs Covid vaccines. As such, it is also informed that the above citizens who are yet to get administered the 2nd dose of vaccine are urged to participate in today’s MEGA Vaccination Camp organised by GCC.
