Shocking!! 1158 Streets in Chennai affected - COVID clusters once again in this north Chennai locality!!

Coronavirus infection is spreading fast now in Chennai and this is making many to worry!!

In the Chennai city, Royapuram is one of the densely populated areas is a well known fact.

It is now brought to light by the Chennai Corporation that Royapuram has got the most number of street clusters of Covid-19 infection now. Information is that in Royapuram there are now as many as 15 streets with clusters of 5 or more number of cases. This Royapuram has emerging clusters of health professionals also and this is because of the presence of Stanley Medical College or SMC and Madras Medical College or MMC in this zone.

According to an official belonging to GCC it was confirmed that there are clusters of 10 to 13 cases from the nursing hostels, dental hostel, from men’s hostel of MMC and SMC. Truth is that the severity of the infection was not high and most of them have been vaccinated fully already.

As many as 13 shop owners have tested Coronavirus positive in Kuppayyar Street which is a market area.  In Egmore, a luxury hotel had 17 Covid-19 cases and 5 tested Covid-19 positive from a hostel belonging to SC/ST communities just recently.  The official explained how in a family all are testing positive even if one person has tested positive.

The contract tracing officers explained that those persons returning homes after traveling were not isolating themselves. An officer from Perungudi zone mentioned that there were lots of cases among those traveling within or outside Chennai. In Chennai, as many as1158 streets had atleast one Coronavirus case on Monday. There was just half the number of cases just a week back.

Five or more Coronavirus cases have been identified in 51 streets now and a week back just 18 streets had 5 or more cases.
