The Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus or KCBT at Kilambakkam witnessed lots of passengers as many started coming back from their hometowns to Chennai after deepavali festival.
The crowd has been anticipated by the authorities and special arrangements have been made also. In addition to the 3408 regular services were operated.
It is noteworthy that additional bus parking facilities have been arranged at Vandalur zoo premises and in the Karasangal cricket ground etc. It must be noted that on 28th October approximately 1.10lakhs people travelled on 1692 buses to their native places to celebrate deepavali. On 29th October as many as 3221 buses carried about 2.40lakh passengers. In 3471 buses, nearly 1.75 lakhs passengers left Chennai to their natives on 30th October. Point is that In 8284 buses, about 5.25lakhs went to their natives for deepavali.
