Why is this government hospital at Tirupattur sensational now?

A 300 bedded government hospital at Tirupattur has been making sensational news!!
Records have been created in both deliveries as well as in dialysis cycles at this government hospital. This was as per an official source. The doctors belonging to this hospital have mentioned that many pregnant women from Tirupattur and from other surrounding places flock to this hospital because of the spread of Coronavirus infection. Pregnant women feel that they would be looked after well here.
It has been brought out by some officials that in the month of April alone (during Coronavirus issue) the total number of deliveries was 500. In normal times, this number would be around 400 per month. It is interesting to note that a few days back sub-collector Vandana Garg grabbed many eyeballs when she delivered a 3.2kg baby girl. The lockdown restrictions have made this New Delhi based sub-collector to choose this government hospital at Tirupattur for her delivery.
The monthly dialysis cycles have also increased from 200 to 500 in the month of May in this hospital. It was pointed out by the chief medical officer, Dr. S. Dileepan that the lockdown restrictions have prevented many from traveling to private hospitals. He explained that at present 10 dialysis machines are used for treating the patients instead of the usual 6.
There has been no complaint in this regard from the people as they were very happy. He concluded that the hospital ambulance picks up the patients from their homes for the sake of dialysis if the patients infirm the hospital before itself.
