There is some good news regarding meal schemes for the govt school students across TN now.
From the next academic year, the school students who are getting benefit from the nutritious meal programme could expect a further upgrade in the quality of the food provided to them. Information is that the TN government has increased the vegetable and condiment advance provided to nutritious meal centres by Rs 61.61 cr. This was announced by the TN social welfare minister Geetha Jeevan.
The minister spoke about how daily vegetable and condiment advance provided to 42.71 lakh students would be increased to Rs 2.01 each from Rs 1.79 for the students from class 1 to 5. In the same way, daily vegetable and condiment advance provided would be increased from Rs 2.11 to Rs 2.71 for the students studying in the class 6 to 10. It is learnt that the state exchequer would incur an additional Rs 61.61 cr per year due to the hike in the advance amount.
ARAN: It is worth mentioning here that an exclusive home for transgender persons would be constructed in Chennai and Madurai at a cost of Rs 64 lakhs. Pot is that transgender persons would be able to stay from 3 weeks to 3 years in such homes. They would be provided industrial training plus entertainment and support services and lodging etc.
At Rs 1 crore, 20 conferences would be held and these conferences would have representatives from the government departments, NGOs and experts on laws and schemes available and measures to be taken to prevent crimes against women and kids.
Production of awareness short films:
The minister Geetha Jeevan later announced the production of awareness creating short films and books at Rs 1 cr to prevent crimes against women and children.
Important piece of information is that apps would be developed and training provided to the dept officers to improve learning efficiency and monitor children with development delays at Rs 2 cr.
To facilitate the implementation of ICDS, IVRS facilities as well as toll free helpline would be developed.
