Traders and the public in Mylapore, Chennai Metro City, took sudden protest action against traffic changes implemented for the progress of the Chennai Metro Rail Project. Subsequently, discussions arose regarding the acute traffic congestion faced by traders and the public in the Mylapore area. A decision was reached to halt the temporary traffic changes until the Pongal Festival. Chennai Metro Rail Company General Manager Ravikumar announced this decision.
Following the announcement, traders and the public expressed gratitude for the prompt action taken by the traffic police. According to the project plan of the Chennai Metro Rail, work has recently begun on the overbridge at Ajanta Junction and the Buckingham Canal Bridge at R K Mutt Road near the Mylapore MRTS (Mass Rapid Transit System) Railway Station. The Chennai Metro Rail project administration is actively overseeing the commencement of this project.
