Union Minister Inaugurates Udaan Yatri Cafe at Chennai Airport
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated the Udaan Yatri Cafe at Chennai Airport, offering affordable food options starting at just ₹20.
Providing updates on aviation developments, the minister announced that Phase II of Terminal 2 is nearing completion and will be operational soon to enhance passenger capacity.
Regarding the Parandhur Airport project, he stated that site clearance has been granted, with in-principle approval expected soon. He clarified that land selection falls under the state government’s jurisdiction, while the central government handles feasibility studies.
Addressing Runway 2 limitations, the minister acknowledged that wide-body aircraft cannot land on it and assured that plans are underway to integrate runways for better operations.
With these upgrades, Chennai Airport is set for major improvements in connectivity and passenger convenience.
