The State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) has announced the cancellation of fare concessions on express buses from June 16 to July 31. This decision follows a directive from the Managing Director aimed at managing increased passenger numbers and anticipated heavy traffic congestion during this period.
In a circular addressed to all branch managers, the Deputy Manager noted that the fare concessions, typically applicable on weekdays, will be replaced with full fares for AC, non-AC, seater, and sleeper buses throughout the specified dates. This measure aims to align fare policies during the summer holidays, which were observed as festive and special days from April 15 to June 15.
Branch Managers and Assistant Managers have been instructed to ensure strict adherence to these new fare guidelines and to inform conductors accordingly. Additionally, the Senior Assistant Engineer responsible for bookings has been directed to implement the revised fare structure for reservations during this period.
It is important to note that the 10 percent fare concession offered on weekdays will not apply from June 16 to July 31, continuing a practice established since 2018 where full fares are charged on weekends, holidays, and special days.
