Today, Friday, 2nd August, happens to be the 31st Day of the ‘Lord Athi Varadhar Vaibhavam’.
The deity of Lord Athi Varadhar is adorned with green silk clothing along with flowers such as jasmine, crescent (Shanmugappoo), and tuberose (Sampangippoo) offering Darshan to the devotees.
Being the 2nd day of the Darshan of Lord Athi Varadhar, as per the usual trend, today also a large crowd of devotees waited in the queue and having Darshan!
As the number of lines waiting for Darshan has been increased to 10, the devotees now can have quicker darshan with no jostling of the crowd of devotees.
Tomorrow, Saturday, 3rd August is the sacred festival of Thiru ‘Aadi Pooram’ (The day on which one of the 27 stars, Pooram, occurs during the sacred Tamil calendar month of Aadi), the Divine marriage of the Tamil Vaishnavite Saint (Alwar) Aandal with Lord Ranganathar is to be performed.

As such, tomorrow, Saturday, 3rd August, the Darshan of Lord Athi Varadhar will commence at 5.00 AM and conclude at 5.00 PM. After 5.00 PM, the Darshan will be stopped. It will be resumed at 8.00 PM after the divine marriage of Saint Aandal and Lord Ranganathar is performed.
