Longer Pongal holidays in TN - An appeal to be made to the CM for extended holidays during Pongal festival!!
The employees belonging to the TN government now want to have 17th of January 2025 as a holiday. They would be appealing to the chief minister of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin regarding this.
It is known that Pongal festival season is a huge occasion for the people belonging to TN. Many would be visiting their native places or hometowns to celebrate this festival with their families and friends.
Point to be noted is that the festivities fall on 11th of January 2025 that is Saturday and 13th January that is Monday is the festival of Bhogi. Pongal day is on 14th January, which is Tuesday.
Mr. Thiyagarajan, JACTO- GEO co-ordinator showcased the importance of the Pongal festival. He mentioned that continuous holidays from 11th to 19th would be of superb benefit for all the TN government employees, teachers and students etc. In this regard, a formal appeal to the CM of TN would be made in the first week of the month of January.
It must be noted that for the Pongal festival the TN government employees get 4 days holidays. It is now said that with an additional holiday on 17th January they would be able to spend longer time with their families etc.
