Posted on: 15/Oct/2024 4:37:33 PM

Due to ongoing heavy rains, several Chennai Metro stations are experiencing waterlogging, affecting access and services:

1. St. Thomas Mount Metro Station: Waterlogging from Main Road to the station has cut off road access. Passengers should use the foot overbridge at St. Thomas Mount Suburban Railway Station to reach the Metro.

2. Alternate Route Suggestion: Road travelers are advised to use Arignar Anna Alandur Metro Station for their journey.

3. Koyambedu Metro Station: Waterlogging on B-Road is reported. Passengers should use the foot overbridge from Poonamallee High Road, near Rohini Theatre.

4. Central Metro Station: The park-side entry escalator at Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Metro Station is switched off for safety. Passengers should be cautious when using staircases at all Metro stations.

5. Parking Restrictions: Passengers are advised not to park vehicles at Koyambedu, St. Thomas Mount, and Arumbakkam Metro stations from 15th to 17th October 2024, as parking areas are prone to water stagnation. Further updates will depend on weather conditions.

6. For Assistance: Contact 1800 425 1515 or the Women Helpline at 155370.

The public is encouraged to use Metrorail services for safer travel during this period. Stay alert and follow updates.
