Additional trains on Chennai Metro Rail from today (8th July)!

The administration of the Chennai Metro Rail has released a notification. In this, it is mentioned:
“Due to the then prevalent raging resurgent coronavirus, Metro Rail operated from 21st June with 50% seats/passengers.
Presently, the reis a substantial reduction in the extent/impact of the raging resurgent coronavirus pandemic and as such, more relaxations have been announced under the prevalent extended lockdown imposition.
In this situation, as per the appeal from the passengers, Metro Rail services are operated from today (Thursday, 8th July) from 5.30 AM to 9.00 PM.
Chennai Metro Rail will operate at 5-minutes the interval from 8.00 AM to 11.00 AM and from 5.00 PM till 8.00 PM. During the other times, Chennai Metro Rail trains will operate every 10 minutes.
NOTE THAT PASSENGERS MUST STRICTLY FOLLOW THE CORONA PREVENTION GUIDELINES!
A PENALTY OF Rs. 200/- will be charged from the passengers who DO NOT WEAR FACE MASKS!”
