Heavy rains in Chennai after midnight

There were heavy showers last night in Chennai. Several parts of the city including Anna Nagar, Purasawalkam, Egmore, Parrys, had even the main roads were water logged but others including Nungambakkam, Guindy, Egmore etc escaped with mild rains.
Meanwhile temperatures in the city came down as the rain poured in.
