Considerable reduction in corruption in T.N

Tamil Nadu has something really appreciable. Comparing early years in 2000, it is found that there is a considerable decrease in corruption in the state in the past three years. Between 2008 and 2011, nearly 600 cases of corruption were filed by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-corruption. In the past three years, this count is reduced by 40 per cent which indeed brings a huge relief to the quality of the city.

In the years 2012 and 2013, there were 461 and 381 corruption cases respectively. At least 50 officers were convicted every year during periods of 2001 and 2003. This got reduced to 28 and 22 during 2009 and 2010.

Activists and legal luminaries request for making more convictions as it would further help reduce corruption to a great extent. According to former judge of Madras high court, Justice K. Chandru, corruption is still prevailing despite reduction in total number of conviction cases. He also added that corruption level is now elevated to scientific corruptions.
