It has been scorching sun for the last 3 days in Tamil Nadu. The temperature is more than the average expected for this season.
A meteorological centre official informed:
When the cyclone ‘Hudhud’ crossed Vizag, it had absorbed all the moisture content in the atmospheric air over Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry. This has led to a very dry climate in Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry.
With 3 days of hot weather, a thermal convection has formed again in Tamil Nadu. This has increased the prospects of rain tonight (15th October) or tomorrow morning (16th October).
South-west monsoon is still not complete. Only if the monsoon season gets over, the wind direction will change. Right now, there are no indications about this. As such, rains due to south-west monsoon may start at the last week of this month.
With the prevailing thermal current, there are prospects rains with thunder.
