Chennai Meteorological Centre: Bright prospects of rain in South Tamil Nadu!

Chennai Meteorological centre has informed that there are bright prospects of rain today (16th March, Monday) in South Tamil Nadu due to the formation of depression.

While most of the Tamil Nadu districts including Chennai are experiencing scorching hot summer, a depression has formed in the ocean of Kanyakumari which has led to rains  in a few places in South Tamil Nadu. This may continue for 2 more days.

The Director of Chennai Meteorological Centre, Mr. S R Ramanan, explained:

The depression which formed near the Kanyakumari Ocean has moved west and located at the Lakshadweep area. This may lead to heavy rains in the next 24 hours There may be light rain in a few places in North Tamil Nadu as well.

Chennai city will have light clouds covering the sky.
