136th police station starts functioning

Chennai Police Department has inaugurated its 136th police station in MGR Memorial and Anna Samadhi near Marina Beach.
Greater Chennai Police Department is 100 years old. The department has four zones, 13 police districts and 12,000 policemen. In Chennai 135 Law and Order Police stations are functioning. Now the 136th police station has started functioning from Sunday at MGR Memorial and Anna Samadhi. Ravikumaran has been appointed as the Inspector of Police. He took charges of the new police station. 30 policemen have been posted here. This police station is temporarily functioning in Anna Samadhi police station. Very soon a new building is to be built.
