Summer Special - Lemon Juice & cold buttermilk to be made available for Chennai traffic police!

Chennai Traffic Police will be offered cold buttermilk and lemon juice daily for the next 3 months to get some relief from the scorching summer.
The intensity of heat in Chennai has already started increasing. With this in mind, arrangement for cold buttermilk & lemon juice is made for the Chennai Traffic police from yesterday (Tuesday, 24th March).
Cold buttermilk & lemon juice were given at around 11.00 AM. For the traffic police on duty in traffic circles, the drinks were taken to their work-spot and given.
Lemon juice and buttermilk were served alternately for every 2 hours.
This will continue till end of June. The senior traffic officials informed that about 2500 traffic staff will be given this facility.
This scheme was introduced by the former Chief Minister, Ms. Jayalalithaa and has been functioning quite efficiently.
