New areas merged with Chennai Corporation to get drinking water from August!

In order to provide drinking water, sewage lines, road & street light in the areas now linked to the Chennai Corporation, work has been taken up and nearing completion.
Nolambur, Karambakkam, Nandhambakkam, Eenjambakkam, ramapuram, Manapakkam, Okkiyam, Thuraipakkam, Sholinganallur, Sadayankuppam, Kadappakkam, Manali, Pallikkaranai, Mugalivakkam, Chinna sekkadu, Kottivakkam, Perungudy, Palavakkam, Vadaperumbakkam, Surappattu, Kadirvedu, Puthagaram, Puzhal, etc are being provided with these facilities. Drinking water process cost is Rs. 583.36 Crores.
The task of providing drinking water facility in hutment areas where there are links are also included in this project.
In the 1st phase, in the areas covering Noalmbur, Karapakkam, Nandhambakkam, and Eenjambakkam, pipe-laying work is almost complete.
Hence, it has been decided to provide drinking water facility for these areas from August.
.Officials informed that 50% linking work is complete for the new areas . The balance will be completed before August and then drinking water will be supplied.
