Tamil Nadu State Government has mentioned in the Court that the Moolakadai Flyover will be open to public in three months.

M Gouthaman, an advocate and resident of Ottravadai Street, Puzhal, had filed a PIL in Madras High Court. In that he has stated, " Public were put to great hardship because the over bridge has not been completed within the stipulated time. The project commenced in 2010 in order to decongest the junction and had a deadline of 24 months. But even after four years, the project has not been completed. I sent a representation to the government of Tamil Nadu on August 26, 2013, to which authorities replied that the project was delayed due to land acquisition problem and steps were taken to complete the work expeditiously. Even after the reply tendered by the government there was no progress in construction work. Hence I request the court to direct the government to lay bitumen roads on both sides of the under-construction bridge, till completion of the work to ease traffic movement.”

The petition came up before the first bench comprising Chief Justice SK Kaul and T S Sivagnanayam, government pleader submitted that the bridge would be opened in three months
