Muharram on October 24

The Tamil Nadu government has changed the public holiday for Muharram from October 23 to October 24 following a request from the chief kazi. Chief Secretary K Gnanadesikan said that the change of holiday is applicable to organizations under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The change is also applicable to state government undertakings, corporations and boards.
