Stringent security arrangements are being carried out in Chennai Airport during the occasion of Republic Day.
Visitors will not be allowed inside the airport till 31st January.The passengers entering the airport are subjected to thorough checking.All vehicles are thoroughly checked by the police at the entrance of the airport.
At the Portico area of the Chennai Airport, Central Police Workforce are keeping strict vigilance armed with rifles.Hidden CCTV cameras have been set up in the surrounding areas o the airport for monitoring.Rifled Police & Central Workforce Police are patrolling the area around the airport in mufti.
The police informed that as all the areas around the airport have come under the security circle, 5-tier security arrangement has been set up and the security in the area has been strengthened.
The passengers are also subjected to through checking before being allowed in. Vans fitted with special latest cameras have been set up for maximum monitoring.
The police in the area are catching all suspicious-looking persons and enquiring them.The police have also been vigilantly checking all the vehicles parked in the airport area.
The Airport security officials deploying sniffing dogs are checking & monitoring all areas in and around the airport.
Thus, the local; police, Central workforce Police, and the airport security authorities have joined together for a 24-hours extra security & monitoring.
