All the sub-registrar offices in Tamil Nadu are to be outsourced. There are 578 sub-registrar offices in Tamil Nadu. The sub registrar issues encumbrance certificates (EC) and certified copies of documents already scanned, preparation of property valuation statements and archival of documents. 30 Lakhs documents are being registered here. Sub-registrar offices are one of the important sources which earn money to the Government. Now the government has decided to outsource the sub-registrar offices.
As a forerunner, the thumb impressions of buyers and sellers who come to register are now attended by outsourced people. The outsourcing will take place from 1st April. As per this, the outsourcing has been introduced in Ariyalur. This is done on experimental basis. If this successful, it will be introduced in all sub-registrar offices.
