Since there is short supply in ladies fingers, beans and broad beans, the prices have gone up at the Koyambedu vegetable wholesale market.

From March to April, the prices of onions, tomatoes and beans were selling for a low price at Koyambedu vegetable wholesale market.

At this juncture, harvests of beans and broad beans have come down in Karnataka and Dindigul. Hence very small loads are being brought to Koyambedu market.

Because of this, beans which were sold for Rs 25 last week is now being sold between Rs 40 and Rs 50. Similarly the broad beans which were sold for Rs 30 last week is now being sold for Rs 50.

Similarly shallots and drumsticks prices have gone up by Rs 10 per kilo. Last three days back, 10000 tonnes of vegetables were brought in 650 lorries to Koyambedu Wholesale Vegetable Market.
