Parks to be set up in Chennai

The Chennai Corporation has invited private companies and agencies to set up parks in vacant grounds in Chennai. In a press release issued in this regard, the corporation has stated that a consultative meeting headed by Mayor Saidai Duraisamy took place yesterday. This meet took place in the presence of Commissioner P. Chandramohan.
 
We welcome proposals from private companies to set up parks, barricades, roadside parks, parks in open spaces, setting up of parks and maintenance works, etc. These companies can source money through advertisements here. A coordinator for all these works will also be appointed, he added.
 
Furthermore, precautionary measures for southwest monsoon rains that are to be done joining hands with the government departments, dredging of rainwater drains and disposal of dredge residues, etc were also discussed during the meet.
 
This meeting saw participation by K.S. Kandhasamy, and R. Kannan, the district deputy commissioners of Chennai Corporation, Regional deputy commissioner of Chennai, etc.
